Health Tourism

Health tourism, also known as medical tourism, is an emerging and rapidly growing sector of tourism in which individuals travel to different countries to take advantage of advanced medical services and treatment facilities. This phenomenon emerged at a time when many patients in their home countries were unable to access advanced medical equipment, or when individuals traveled abroad to reduce treatment costs.

Required Documents for Admission:

  1. Patient's Passport: For identification and completion of the admission process.

  2. Medical Images and Reports: These include radiology, ultrasound, CT scans, MRIs, and other previous tests, which must be presented to the doctor in order to review the patient’s medical history and treatment progress before entering Iran.

Patients who have made prior arrangements with the medical tourism unit before coming to Iran will have their details, including the name of their treating doctor, registered in the foreign patient list. Upon entering the hospital and completing the admission procedures, the IPD expert will meet with the relevant doctor. After examination and consultation, the necessary arrangements for the patient’s hospitalization will be made, and the treatment process will begin without any delay.

If foreign patients arrive at the hospital without prior notification or coordination, the international patient admission department will take immediate action to conduct a doctor's examination and start the treatment process.

Additionally, during the patient’s hospitalization, the medical tourism expert will visit the patient daily to ensure that their condition is appropriate. This process facilitates all aspects of the treatment journey for foreign patients within this unit.
