This is an introduction to the CCU1 (Cardiac Care Unit 1) section:

CCU1 has 14 active beds equipped with the following devices: ventilators, DC shock, portable monitors, and an echocardiogram (echo) machine for exercise testing.

Patients with common diagnoses such as myocardial infarction, acute coronary syndrome, acute pulmonary edema, warfarin poisoning, pulmonary embolism, acute and chronic heart failure, endocarditis, and heart blocks, among others, are admitted to this section.

Diagnostic procedures performed in the echo room include echocardiography, specialized echocardiograms including transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE) and stress echocardiography, echo with contrast for diagnosing heart wall defects, exercise testing, Holter monitoring, fetal echocardiography, and pediatric and neonatal echocardiography.

The staff in this section includes 14 nurses, two nursing assistants, one psychologist, four nursing aides, and one secretary.
