A clinical-pathological conference (CPC) at Firouzabadi Hospital brought together specialists in neurology, internal medicine and geriatric medicine to discuss a complex clinical case and explore the diagnostic challenges involved in caring for older patients with underlying health conditions.

The case discussed involved a 64-year-old woman who presented with poorly controlled diabetes and an involuntary movement disorder affecting her left side. The complexity of her clinical presentation prompted multidisciplinary discussion of possible diagnoses and appropriate treatment strategies.The session brought together D.r Maryam Nik-Solat, a geriatric medicine specialist; D.r Elaheh Aminy, a neurologist; and D.r Mohammad Jamalian, an internal medicine specialist, who led the clinical discussion and reviewed the differential diagnoses associated with the patient’s symptoms.During the conference, faculty members from the participating specialties examined different aspects of the case, sharing clinical perspectives on the assessment and management of older patients with complex presentations and underlying medical conditions.

CPC conferences provide an opportunity for specialists from different disciplines to review challenging cases, compare clinical perspectives and strengthen collaborative approaches to diagnosis and treatment. At Firouzabadi Hospital, these sessions form part of ongoing efforts to support clinical learning and multidisciplinary care.
